Another full day of German adventures. We departed from our hotel in Berlin by 10 a.m. this morning. After struggling to figure out how to get to the parking garage from the hotel (two buildings that are awkwardly connected), we checked out of the hotel and hit the road.
Our only stop before getting to Bremen was Lübeck. The old part of Lübeck is on an island enclosed by the Trave River. We parked in a garage just out of the old town and walked in. It was a beautiful, sunny day. We walked all over the city taking in the amazing Gothic architecture.
There was a festival of some sort going on so there were booths and music.

After taking in the sights we were back on the road for a short trek to Bremen. We passed through Hamburg along the way. We are staying in the Atlantic Grand Hotel in Bremen and it sure is nice! I’ve been called Madame twice!
This hotel is right next to the old town of Bremen and there are some pretty incredible buildings all around us. We have convenient parking under the building too.
We didn’t linger long because we were on a mission to get our clothes cleaned. Laundry service charges $7 for one pair of pants. So instead we packed up all our clothes and walked a mile through some pretty cool neighborhoods of Bremen to a local laundromat. After a short hour our clothes were done and I was a happy camper.
A short walk back to the hotel led us through some beautiful alley ways and by the time we were reaching the hotel it began to get dark so the old churches had lights highlighting them. Just amazing.
By this point I was hungry enough to eat a bear so we ordered room service. Yes, please and thank you!

Tomorrow we will see more sights of Bremen, drive north to see Bremerhaven where my mother was born, then head off to AMSTERDAM!
