At one point today, I forgot what country we were in – we have been bouncing around so much.
We started our morning in Strasbourg, France (photos above). After arriving at the hotel last night they told us the parking garage was full and that we’d have to park on the street. Luckily we found street parking quickly, and Jacob was able to parallel park with ease in our little car. The packed parking garage should have been an indication to me about how full the the hotel was. When we made it down for breakfast it was absolutely packed and we could barely find somewhere to sit down. We ate our food quickly and returned to our room to pack up. We decided we would check out of the hotel before going to see the sights.
Strasbourg is a beautiful city and we got out early enough to beat the crowds. We walked by the Strasbourg Cathedral, Palais Rohan and many more interesting sights including several canals.

After that we headed back to our car and on our way out of town we drove by the European Parliament. Here is Jacob’s recap of the rest of the day.
Jacob says, “We got gas, that was exciting and then we drove on the road and you didn’t like it and then we got here and went to the park.”
When he says I didn’t like us “driving on the road,” it was because he got on the authobahn and was immediately flying passed everyone. At one point, he had this gleeful look on his face and said, “I’m going 160 in the slow lane!” Pure joy if I’ve ever seen it.
And that’s 160 kmh or 99 mph.
This was making me a little nervous since there was more traffic than normal and I reminded him we were not in a race and that I’d kindly appreciate it if he slowed down a little..
We arrived in Stuttgart, Germany around 2 p.m. and were able to check into our hotel early. After all that exciting driving Jacob had to take a nap and I had some t-shirts to clean.
After our afternoon break we were back out the door to see the sights of Stuttgart. It was a beautiful and warm day (over 70 degrees). Its so nice to have clear skies and sunshine.
The Schlossplatz was full of people sitting in the grass enjoying a picnic, sunbathing and people sitting outside restaurants enjoying some food. We sat and took in the surroundings for a bit.
Since Stuttgart is home to the Mercedes and Porsche headquarters we saw lots of expensive cars while walking about. At one point we saw three porsche’s in a row.
Once our legs were tired from wandering we headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow is a very big day and we need to rest up. We are leaving here for Leipzig via Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Wurzburg. We will arrive in Dresden on Tuesday where we will stay for five nights. Until then…We

LOL! I loved driving in Europe; France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland… Only thing was, we must have had a true economy model, ie squirrel on a treadmill under the hood, as even the scooters whizzed right by us!
