Well that was worth the wait!

Oh my, that was a long day! Fitbit is clocking over 20k steps.

We woke up to rain this morning, it must have followed us from home. We enjoyed some yummy pancakes and sausage for breakfast. Then packed our essentials and headed out the door to California Adventure. Well, after dad got some assistance locking the door, we left.

Our AirBnB is almost a straight shot to the parks along Harbor Blvd. The men did some excellent navigation and got us to the giant parking garages easily.

We sprung for preferred parking to spare us some of the walk to the parks but that almost seemed pointless because once you get through security there are no shuttles. You have to walk a long distance to the park entrances. Once there they scanned our tickets and we were in.

First stop was Cars land and we took the mater ride. John said the joy he got from the ride cannot be put into adequate words. Mostly it just spun us around. We didn’t realize how hard the corners would be and Jacob squished me on one of the turns. After that he tried not to! Before the ride, we had to queue up our phones to try and get a spot on the spider man ride. This ride requires a reservation. Luckily both parties were able to get in but Jacob and I got an earlier spot….only six hours later.

We decided to head to Grizzly Peak because the raft ride was a short wait time, but we got side tracked when we saw the Ariel Undersea Adventure ride on the way there. We split in to pairs and each got a clam shell for the ride. It was so cool! Jacob said my watch kept lighting up and distracting him because of my dancing.

After that we walked to the Grizzly Peak area. Richard wanted to do the raft ride and it was only a 15 minute wait. Jacob decided to go too and I was volunteered to join. Unsure how soaked we would get mother purchased us ponchos.

Despite the look on his face Richard said this was his favorite ride of the day. We did it twice! I was not a huge fan and kept my eyes closed for most of it which was probably a good idea because I got pretty soaked. The water was full of chlorine and the smell just wafted off the water.

By this time the sun was shining and I was hungry. We found some seats in the shade. Jacob and I found a hot dog stand and we all snacked! During lunch the Incredibles characters came through and we saw a group from Coco.

Richard then wanted to ride on the spinning swings which was maybe not the best choice after lunch but Uncle Jacob and Aunt Lisa obliged, we even went on it twice!

After one more round on the raft ride it was time to head over to Soaring. This ride was amazing. It’s like you’re flying all over the world. They showed several places we have been to in person including Neuschwanstein castle and the Sydney Harbor. You really feel like you’re flying even though it’s just all projected on a screen.

By this point it was time for more snacks so we grabbed some churros. I sprung for the Halloween themed chocolate churros.

We decided to head over to catch the Monster Inc ride only to discover the reason the line wasn’t moving was because they had temporarily closed it. This meant most people in line bailed. A staff member came out and said the wait could be up to thirty minutes and we decided to wait it out. Lucky for us it ended up only being a few minutes and we were near the front of the line.

By now it was time to pause and grab dinner. We ate at the Smokejumper Grill. Being after 6:30, our queue time for the spider man ride had approached. Little did we know it would be an hour long wait before we got on the ride, weaving through lines forever. My family was on a later queue so they left and rode the Luigi ride. They were done before we were.

After briefly checking in, it was their turn to wait in line for the spider man ride so Jacob and I took off to explore more of the park. Jacob suggested the ferris wheel ride and we for some reason decided to go with the swinging gandolas which ended up being a bit more swing than we had bargained for!

With our dinners still in our bellies thankfully, we headed back to the Avengers campus to meet up with the rest of the Hust group.

Richard was thrilled with the ride and done for the day. We walked out of the park as the fireworks were going off at Disneyland. A wonderful, full day of fun and I am ready for bed! Tomorrow is TBD. John, mom and Richard are off to Legoland. The rest of us have options! We will see!

Until then!
