Hello devoted readers, unfortunately today I do not have much to report. We spent most of the day in our apartment relaxing.

This morning we did walk to a pharmacy and pick up some bug itch cream, repellent and ibuprofen. It cost us $40 for those three things but they are much needed. The itchy bites have been keeping me up and with a hike planned tomorrow I want to make sure I have the repellent available.

We also stopped by the market and picked up some snacks including cookies. I really wanted some cookies and Jacob got some pretzel rolls. I don’t know if I can count pretzel rolls as part of his total pretzel count, and if I can, I haven’t been keeping track. Much bread has been consumed this journey.

After our errands we returned to the apartment to start doing laundry. The washing machine is tiny in comparison to ours back home so many small loads are required. We used the clothing rack to hang our clothes outside to dry but had to bring that inside after a few hours because it started to rain.

We ate snacks, took naps, read and generally relaxed the rest of the day.

We heard thunder last night and a storm rolled in here about 5 p.m. Because of this we are going to try and get out bright and early tomorrow morning for a nearby hike. The trail we are aiming for is really popular too and apparently they have little huts along the way with beer and food, so we won’t be that far from civilization.

Hopefully it will be a nice clear day so we can take in the mountain views.

Update: Since we decided to go on a hike tomorrow and need to leave early. We realized we needed to get some snacks from the store to take with us. Unfortunately, a storm has rolled in and was just going to get worse. We decided to book it to the store anyway. We got some granola bars and dried fruit for our hike. Then we exited the store only to see it was completely pouring outside. We tried to stay under cover as much as we could but then we just had to run for it. In the very short distance to our apartment we got completely soaked. Shoes and clothes are in the tub. A lightning strike nearby caused the internet to go out. This is just wild! Storms are in the forecast all week…
