What day is it?

Greetings friends, I will try to make this post as coherent as possible – but at this moment, Jacob and I have been awake for more than 24 hours.

Our nine-hour flight to Frankfurt left Seattle around 2 p.m. yesterday, so by the time I was starting to get tired, they were passing out breakfast. We landed around 8:30 a.m. in Frankfurt and made our way across the airport to our next gate. We bought some snacks and water as we waited. Our flight to Frankfurt was mostly uneventful. We watched a few movies, I helped a woman find her glasses and I learned something new about myself. I hit a limit for air-time. After about 4 hours, I am done and I want off that plane. Seeing that we had five hours to go at that point was so disappointing.

Our flight to Munich from Frankfurt was a breeze and lasted only 35 minutes. I took a little nap on the plane. When we landed we had to go wait for our luggage. Children were climbing all over the baggage conveyor belt and I was sure they were going to lose some fingers and we’d never see our bag.

Once we collected our bag we found the shuttle to our hotel and were able to check-in right away. However, according to Rick Steves not only do you need to keep on travelin’ but you also have to keep on movin’ to combat jetlag. After a very short break at the hotel we were back on the shuttle to the airport to catch the train into Munich.

We decided to go to the main Munich train station. We hadn’t spent much time here last time, so we wanted to check it out. We did remember they have a chocolate shop so we stopped there and grabbed ourselves some dark chocolate and admired all the chocolate bunnies.

After that, Jacob got an apple pastry and I bought a sandwich. (Train station below)

From there we walked around Marienplatz and then to the Englischer Garten. We walked along a trail along the Isar River. There were lots of families and dogs out and about. We walked and walked and walked, eight miles in fact.

Here is a photo.

I was starting to think I was going to fall asleep standing so we headed back to the train station. I kept falling asleep on the train and Jacob tried to snap a photo, but I foiled his efforts.

We are back at the hotel. Time to finally get some good sleep. Tomorrow morning we are up bright and early. We are heading back to the airport to catch our EasyJet flight to London.
