Salzburg and Vienna

img_20160919_123941Today was a very full day! After passing out shortly after 9:30 p.m. We woke up around 7:30 and were ready to start our day. We quickly showered and were off to the train station, we made it just in time to catch our train that would take us to our rental car. After having to walk from the train station to the rental car place in the pouring rain, I was excited to be getting the car. Jacob’s quote of the day was, “We flew halfway across the world and we got a Ford.”

We headed back to our hotel and checked out, next stop Salzburg!

I had Jacob navigate to the inner part of the city on little cobblestone roads, he was not pleased but we found a great little parking lot. And when I say little, I mean it, these spots are tiny! We wiggled in a parking spot and set off to see the sights. We checked out lots of cool places in Salzburg including Residenzplatz and Mozartplatz. We walked through the old city and saw Louis Vuitton and Versace in the 500-year old buildings.

We didn’t make it up the cliffs to Fortress Hohensalzburg. Again we battled the rain, but enjoyed our time. I demanded food and got a cheeseburger and fries before we headed back to the car.IMG_20160919_123431.jpg

Then we headed off to Vienna and met up with Jai who showed us to our apartment. He first helped us park our car and then showed us the studio apartment we had checked out for two days.

We decided we had experienced enough for one day so we went to a corner store and picked up some food for dinner that we could make ourselves.

All in all, a great day. Tomorrow we will explore more of Vienna!
