Since Jacob and I only had one day at Disneyland we decided we would try to get to the park bright and early so we could put in a full day. We left the house at 7:30 and by the time we parked, went through security and met up with my parents it was almost 9:30.

After storing our things in lockers we were off toward Adventureland. We saw that the wait time for Indiana Jones was 30 minutes so we got in line. Luckily the ride had just opened and we walked almost all the way to the ride without having to wait. Indiana Jones was a fantastic way to start off our day. I barely remember it from 20 years ago! It was especially fun to ride since we had recently watched all the films.
Next up was Haunted Mansion. We had been watching wait times for this ride and they had been over an hour every time we looked. We decided to get in line earlier in the day and had a shorter wait time of 40 minutes. It was decked out for Halloween and very popular!
My brother bought us matching Disneyland shirts which were Halloween themed and glowed in the dark. Our shirts were glowing in the Haunted Mansion elevator.
After Haunted Mansion, Richard spotted the Mark Twain Steam Boat and wanted to ride on that.
The sun was shining but there were some scattered clouds. Low 70s made for perfect temperature.
After the steam boat, we walked over to Tomorrowland to ride Star Tours. I remember this ride from our last Disneyland visit. It is always amazing how they can make it feel like you’re flying through space when you’re barely moving!
By this point it was about 11:30 and time for lunch. We brought our lunch and had stored it in the lockers. We picked up our food and found some benches near the entrance to sit on to eat. We watched a Halloween themed parade go by with Mickey and Minnie.
From lunch, we hopped on the train and rode it to the opposite end of the park getting off near Toon Town. Since Its a Small World was only a 25 minute wait we got in line there. My father was joking about having the song stuck in his head already. We knew we were in for a ride when the boat next to us had to be towed to get moving. Later in the ride, our boat just completely stopped. I thought we’d be stuck there forever. Richard and I stick our hands out and gave the boat a little boost. Our boat did not move very quickly, and after 18 minutes we were done with the ride.

After that adventure, it was churro time! Jacob and I got churros and I also got the pumpkin spiced dipping sauce. So good! We were now near the Matterhorn Bobsled ride which was on Jacob’s list to do. Richard decided to join us too. We chatted with a man and his son, he was visiting from Fresno. He said he tries to get here as often as he can and was surprised we traveled from so far.
Richard loved the ride!
We headed to the Star Wars section of the park next. John had gotten on the virtual queue for the Rise of the Resistance ride and the time was approaching. Before that we had time for the Millennium Falcon ride. Mother and father found a nice place to sit and the rest of us got in line. I loved this ride. Each person had a role to play. John and Richard were pilots and Jacob and I were gunners. It was so fun! Even though Richard crashed us a bit.

After the ride we met back up with the grandparents and checked in. Our queue time had arrived so we then walked across the park only to find out the ride was broken down, so it was back to the grandparents.
It was dinner time now. Mother and father had conveniently seated themselves just outside the Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo restaurant which is somewhere we had looked at eating previously. It was a good variety of meals. We ordered pot roast, chicken, hummus and salad. It was yummy good.
We then headed back to the Rise of the Resistance ride. This ride was incredible, it was like being in a Star Wars movie. Our ship was boarded by the First Order and we were taken captive. Then we got in these little carts driven by droids to try and escape. Richard absolutely loved it. John is going to try and get in the queue again before they leave.
The day was not done, we still had many rides to catch. Next up was Pirates of the Caribbean, followed by the Jungle Cruise and then Autopia. Richard loved driving the little cars. We then finally got in line for one of Jacobs favorite rides, Space Mountain. After a very long 40 minutes we were on. Jacob said the cheesy music of the ride really made the ride for him. Richard loved this ride too, he’s got some dare devil in him!

At this point it was 9:30 pm, we parted ways with Jacob and I heading off to catch a few more rides and eat more churros. We managed to get on Matterhorn and Space Mountain again. With two minutes to spare until 11 pm, we ran over and caught Indiana Jones to end our day on the same ride we started it.
What a big day! We are both exhausted and sore. I had enough with the crowds yesterday and we are going to do some relaxing less crowded activities today. The parents, John and Richard are back to Disneyland. Tomorrow we leave for home. It’s been an amazing trip!
